Hunterfly Road Houses

Four wood-frame houses built around 1830, standing mid-block along the former line of the colonial-era Hunterfly Road, and now the historic core of the Weeksville Heritage Center campus.
History
The houses were rediscovered in 1968 by the historian James Hurley and the pilot Joseph Haynes through archival research and an aerial survey. The Landmarks Preservation Commission designated them individual New York City Landmarks on August 18, 1970, under calendar number LP-0729, after a hearing at which more than fifteen people spoke in favour, including students from P.S. 243, and nobody spoke against. They were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.
