Hurd State Park

Nearly 1,000 acres on the Connecticut River, known for its "split rock" geologic formation and preserved feldspar mining sites; offers hiking, biking, fishing, horseback riding, picnicking and boat-in river camping (May 1–September 30). Open daily 8 a.m.–sunset, free admission; gates close after the first snow.
