Kips Bay Towers

A twin-tower complex designed by I.M. Pei with James Ingo Freed and engineer August Komendant, opened in stages in 1960 and 1965 on a 7.5-acre urban-renewal site. Its cast-in-place, load-bearing concrete facades pioneered a design later reused across Pei's career.
