A bronze group at the start of via Carlo Felice, facing the basilica of San Giovanni in Laterano: the saint stands with his arms raised and his palms turned toward the basilica, on a stepped tufa base, with five further figures below.
History
The group is by Giuseppe Tonnini and dates from 1927. The five figures below the saint represent the companions who followed him to Rome to seek Innocent III's recognition of the Rule.
