The stretch of the Aurelian Walls that runs along viale del Campo Boario, named as a site of its own in the inventory of the Museo diffuso di Testaccio. Only this stretch is described here; the circuit runs on through many other units of the city.

History

The circuit was built at Aurelian's initiative between 272 and 279, and the Pyramid of Cestius was taken into it as a bastion. The Rome War Cemetery was laid out on the strip of the old prati del popolo romano between Monte Testaccio and this line of wall.
