Nero Hawley Gravesite, Riverside Cemetery

An official Connecticut Freedom Trail site marking the grave of Nero Hawley (1742-1817), who won his freedom serving in the Continental Army and became a Trumbull brickmaker. The gravestone platform is inscribed with the location of the clay pits where he made bricks.
