Northeast Slopes

Northeast Slopes traces its founding to 1936, when the Bradford Winter Sports Club installed its first rope tow on Mt. Tug in Bradford, Vermont, per Northeast Slopes' own "Our Story" history page. In the 1940s the operation relocated from Bradford to Eastman Hill in East Corinth, on land connected to Eugene Eastman, and the area was officially renamed Northeast Slopes in 1946. In 1962 the local community formed Northeast Slopes Ski Tows, Inc., a non-profit entity, to run the area. A new non-profit, Northeast Slopes, Inc., was formed in 1986 to purchase and preserve the area. The area's T-Bar lift, named the "John A. Pierson Jr. T-Bar," was installed in 2009. Northeast Slopes operates as a federal 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation run entirely by volunteers, according to its own homepage.
