Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery

Soane bought the estate in 1800 and rebuilt the house between 1800 and 1804, with most of the work complete by late 1803; he had worked on the surviving south wing as an apprentice to George Dance the Younger. The house is listed Grade I as NHLE 1358808, first listed on 24 February 1950. The entrance archway and gates at the north-east end of the park are a separate Grade I entry, NHLE 1079350, listed on 19 January 1981; the lodge beside the archway, NHLE 1358809, and the north boundary wall fronting Mattock Lane, NHLE 1358810, are Grade II and were listed the same day. Ealing Urban District Council acquired the house in 1900 and opened it as a public library in April 1902, and it reopened as a museum in January 1987. A restoration begun in 2012 closed it in March 2015, and it reopened as Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery on 16 March 2019.
