The via Giulia façade of a demolished college, absorbed into the school built on its site. The Liceo Classico Virgilio was built there between 1936 and 1939 to a design by Marcello Piacentini.
History
Giuseppe Ghislieri founded the college in 1656 to house 24 sons of decayed papal nobility free of charge during their studies, under the protection of the Salviati dukes. It moved to via Giulia in 1670 and closed in 1928. The building, possibly by Carlo Maderno, was demolished in the 1930s, and its via Giulia façade and some of its decoration survive.
