Palazzo Santacroce (Pasolini dall'Onda)
Historic site · Regola, Italy
A palace of three storeys with a mezzanine between the first and second, standing between piazza Benedetto Cairoli, via degli Specchi and vicolo de' Catinari. Three of its façades are decorated and the fourth, on the narrow vicolo dei Catinari, is plain; all were restored in the nineteenth century.
History
Onofrio Santacroce commissioned the palace in the late sixteenth century. Carlo Maderno drew the design; Francesco Peparelli took the work up between 1630 and 1640; about 1670 Giovanni Antonio De Rossi unified the family's houses into a single body with a loggia.
