Richmond Park

Charles I created the park in the seventeenth century as a deer park. King Henry VIII's Mound, possibly a round barrow, was scheduled by Historic England in 2020 as NHLE 1457267 and carries the protected view of St Paul's Cathedral in the City of London; a second mound at TQ1891972117 is a scheduled monument, NHLE 1457269. Neither carries a grade. White Lodge, Grade I listed as NHLE 1250045, was a royal residence and is now the Royal Ballet School, closed to general visitors. Pembroke Lodge, Grade II listed as NHLE 1263437, was the home of the Victorian prime minister Lord John Russell and the childhood home of his grandson Bertrand Russell; it has 11 acres of landscaped grounds and runs as a catering and events venue on a lease from The Royal Parks. The park has no station inside it, and Pembroke Lodge is served by routes 65 and 371 and night route N65.
