Francisco Park

A 4.5-acre park bordered by Francisco, Larkin, Bay and Hyde streets, opened in April 2022 and open daily from 5 a.m. to midnight. Recreation and Parks lists a community garden, a children's playground and nature exploration area, a fenced dog run, accessible pathways, native plants and trees, and a sustainable rainwater catchment system. From the terraces you can see the Golden Gate Bridge, Ghirardelli Square, Alcatraz and the Palace of Fine Arts.
History
The park occupies the site of the Francisco Reservoir, constructed in 1859 and shut down in 1940 after the Lombard Reservoir opened a block away; the ground was fenced off from then until the park was built. Recreation and Parks bought the land for 9.9 million dollars, and the Francisco Park Conservancy raised 27.5 million dollars to build the park.
