Spring Creek Park

A former salt marsh converted to parkland by landfill operations that began in 1949, following a 1930 Robert Moses park proposal. Most of the Brooklyn section, Spring Creek North, is an undeveloped wetland preserve without public access infrastructure; the Queens section to the south, in Howard Beach, is part of Gateway National Recreation Area and has two publicly accessible pathways.
