A Roman Catholic church at 409 East 241st Street, the address given on the parish's own site. Wikipedia's Woodlawn Heights article calls it the largest church in Woodlawn Heights and describes St. Barnabas Parish, founded in 1910, as serving as a major community center for the neighborhood.
History
The parish was founded in 1910 and its elementary school opened in 1914. St. Barnabas High School, an all-girls school, opened in 1928; it has been independent from the parish as of September 2015.
