Talcott Mountain State Park / Heublein Tower

The 165-foot Heublein Tower, built in 1914 as Gilbert Heublein's summer home, stands 1,000 feet above the Farmington River Valley with views spanning roughly 1,200 square miles; the moderate 2.5-mile Tower Trail leads to it. Republican leaders reportedly urged Eisenhower to run for president at a gathering here in the early 1950s. Tower open May 22-November 2, 2026, Friday-Monday 10 a.m.-4 p.m.; the park itself is open daily 8 a.m. to sunset.
