The Old White
Golf course · White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia
Third on Golf Digest's 2025-'26 ranking of the best golf courses in West Virginia, rated 4.5 by 14 panelists and labelled "Public" with the badges "100 Greatest Public" and "Best In State" — the highest-ranked publicly accessible course in the state on that list. Charles Blair Macdonald and Seth Raynor built it at The Greenbrier in 1914; its 8th hole is styled after the "Redan" at North Berwick, the 13th after the "Alps" at Prestwick and the 15th after the "Eden" at St. Andrews. Lester George restored it in 2007 and Keith Foster rebuilt it after the July 2016 floods. The resort prices it in two published tiers, "Registered Guests" and "Non-Registered."
