Five surviving buildings on the block that from about 1885 was the center of American sheet-music publishing, popularly nicknamed Tin Pan Alley; designated New York City landmarks on December 10, 2019, with the block itself co-named "Tin Pan Alley" in 2022.
History
The nickname is popularly credited to writer Monroe H. Rosenfeld and was firmly attached to the block by the fall of 1905.
