Turnpike Lane Underground Station is on Green Lanes, N15 3LA, in daily use on the Piccadilly line with a bus station attached. It is Grade II listed, NHLE 1263624, listed 17 May 1994 as 'Turnpike Lane London Regional Transport Underground Station'. The list entry gives the address only as Green Lanes (east side), so the postcode is an approximation from the station's mapped position.
History
Charles Holden designed it in 1932 for the Piccadilly line extension: red brick with grey diaper infill to reinforced concrete, the concrete roof slab expressed as a broad cornice band under deep eaves. The list description records a double-height booking hall set between two ventilation towers, the one to Green Lanes carrying 'Underground' logos, with original floor tiles and a central bronze uplighter on a tapered fluted column. Platform ventilation covers designed by Harold Stabler sit over original fully lined-out roundels, and an original sign still points to 'BUS STATION'. Wood Green Underground Station, one stop north on the same extension, is Grade II listed, NHLE 1401120, listed 20 July 2011, and Bounds Green is Grade II, NHLE 1393641, listed 19 January 2010.
