The green rectangle at the centre of North Beach. San Francisco Recreation and Parks gives the address as Filbert and Stockton, San Francisco, CA 94133. The park is open from 5 a.m. to midnight; its restrooms open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. in spring and summer and 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in fall and winter. Recreation and Parks records an accessible children's play area, accessible parking, an accessible restroom, a playground and restrooms. It is San Francisco Landmark No. 226, designated in 1999.
History
Saints Peter and Paul Church stands on the north side of the square, at 666 Filbert Street. The bequest of Lillie Hitchcock Coit, who died in 1929, funded a monument to the volunteer firefighters in the square as well as the tower on Telegraph Hill.
