WWT London Wetland Centre

The WWT London Wetland Centre occupies more than 100 acres (40 hectares) of four disused Victorian reservoirs at Barn Elms, in a loop of the Thames at Barnes, SW13 9WT. It opened in May 2000 and is run by the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust. No source states its opening hours, so none are given here.
History
An area of 29.9 hectares has carried Site of Special Scientific Interest status since 2002 as Barn Elms Wetland Centre. The reserve holds nationally significant numbers of gadwall and northern shoveler, and records bittern, northern pintail, lapwing, water rail, sparrowhawk, sand martin, kingfisher and little grebe. It carries no entry on the National Heritage List for England: it is a nature reserve rather than a heritage asset. Barnes and Barnes Bridge stations, both served by South Western Railway, are the rail approaches.
