The Beddington dovecote stands in Beddington Park, Church Road, Wallington, SM6 7NW, north-west of the great hall of Carew Manor. It is listed Grade II* as NHLE 1065674 under the entry name "Pigeon House to North West of Beddington Place", and the same structure is separately a scheduled monument, NHLE 1002017, which carries no grade. It stands in open public parkland.
History
The Grade II* listing was made on 21 January 1954 as list entry 1065674, with the statutory address "Pigeon House to North West of Beddington Place, Church Road", and the scheduling on 10 January 1952 as list entry 1002017. It is an early eighteenth-century brick dovecote lined with nesting compartments. It is one of six scheduled monuments inside the borough; the others are a Roman villa east of Beddington Park, NHLE 1001990, a Late Bronze Age enclosure at Queen Mary's Hospital, Carshalton, NHLE 1003313, and three milestones, NHLE 1001998, NHLE 1001999 and NHLE 1002000.
