Canarsie Pier

A public pier and waterfront recreation area on Jamaica Bay, part of the Jamaica Bay Unit of Gateway National Recreation Area and operated by the National Park Service. It is used for fishing, which requires no permit during regular hours, and for waterfront walks and picnicking, and it has a restaurant and visitor-facing facilities.
History
The site was a Canarsee canoe-launching point, and later the location of the Golden City Amusement Park, which opened in 1907 and burned on January 29, 1934.
