Cappella di Sant'Elena all'Esquilino
Historic site · Esquilino, Italy
A neo-Gothic chapel on via Machiavelli, of a single nave, with polychrome glass and a screen dividing the nuns' part of the hall from the faithful's.
History
It was built in 1898-1899 to the design of Ettore Genuini, as the church of the convent of the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary when their convent was enlarged. It is dedicated to St Helen after the foundress's own name, Hélène de Chappotin de Neuville, as the inscription over the portal states. A primary school was annexed to it after the war.
