Kong Chow Temple

Kong Chow Temple stands on Stockton Street above the post office and is dedicated to Guan Di. The association behind it was founded in 1849 and took the name Kong Chow Clan Association in 1854. The temple was destroyed in 1906 and rebuilt on its original Pine Street site; the present building dates from 1977. A prediction slip drawn by Bess Truman on a visit in 1948 is displayed inside.
History
Wikipedia records that the Pine Street building was demolished and the temple moved to the Stockton Street building it occupies now.
