Church of St Helen and St Giles, Rainham

The Grade I listing was made on 7 January 1955 as list entry 1358505, under the statutory name 'Church of St Helen and St Giles'. Rainham's earliest development centred on the church; the settlement appears in the Domesday Book of 1086 as Raineham and lies 13.6 miles (21.9 km) east of Charing Cross. Rainham War Memorial, the village clocktower and a First World War memorial that forms a focus of the town, is listed Grade II, NHLE 1063900, on 25 March 2002.
