1,017 acres based in Redding, with grounds reaching into neighboring Bethel and Newtown: five ponds, a lagoon, the 15-acre Lake Hopewell and about ten miles of trails for hiking, biking and horseback riding. Anna Hyatt Huntington's life-size bronze bears and wolves guard the entrance; the land was the Huntington family's former estate. Open daily 8 a.m. to sunset, free admission, leashed pets welcome.
