Corona Heights Park

A 13.25-acre hill park with an unobstructed panoramic view from its summit. The Recreation and Parks Department gives the park entrance as Roosevelt and Museum Way and the park hours as 5 a.m. to midnight. A one-mile trail network winds to the summit, and the descent to the 15th Street tennis courts runs about 0.2 of a mile. The steps leading up to the peak are not supported by handrails.
History
The hill is Franciscan chert, exposed terra-cotta red at the summit; the base of the hill is about 300 feet above sea level and the peak about 520 feet. Bill Kraus Meadow, a triangular shaped patch of lawn at the park entrance at Museum Way and Roosevelt Way, and the Bill Kraus Pathway leading to the off-leash dog area were dedicated in his honour in 1986. The Randall Museum stands inside the park, and the park adjoins Buena Vista Park.
