A museum of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender history at 4127 18th Street, telephone (415) 777-5455. Its own site gives the hours as Tuesday to Sunday, 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., closed Monday. Admission is free to all visitors on the first Wednesday of every month, sponsored by the Bob Ross Foundation.
History
The museum opened for previews on 10 December 2010 and had its grand opening on 13 January 2011. It is a project of the GLBT Historical Society, whose archive collections are held at a separate address outside this district.
