Deep River Historical Society — The Stone House

"Three museums in one": the Stone House, built in 1841 from locally quarried stone and holding original Southworth family furnishings; a Carriage House; and a Bleach House surviving from the ivory-manufacturing era. Ada Southworth Munson bequeathed the property to the society in 1946. Exhibits cover the ivory industry, women's suffrage and World War II. Free admission; open June through September, Thursdays 10 a.m.–noon and Sundays 2–4 p.m., with year-round appointments at (860) 526-1449.
