Deep River Landing (Town Landing Park)

The town landing on the Connecticut River and the transfer point for the Essex Steam Train & Riverboat: passengers board the Becky Thatcher riverboat here for a roughly 1¼-hour cruise past Gillette Castle, the Goodspeed Opera House and the Haddam Swing Bridge before reboarding the steam train. The 2026 season ran weekends in May (plus Monday, May 25), Thursdays–Sundays from June through September, and Thursdays–Mondays in October; fares started at $29 for the train alone and $49 for the combined trip.
