Alma

She was built in 1891 by Fred Siemer: 80 feet overall, 59 feet on the register, 22.6 feet in beam, 4 feet depth, 41.76 gross tons, with a 67-foot foremast. She carried hay and lumber under sail; her masts came out in 1918 and she worked as a towed salt barge; from 1926 she hauled oyster shell to Petaluma, 110 to 125 tons a week, until 1957. California bought her in 1959, restoration began in 1964, and the National Park Service took her in 1978. She was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on 10 October 1975, reference number 75000179, and is a National Historic Landmark.
