History
The Latchis Hotel building was constructed in 1938 in an Art Deco style the property calls "Greco Deco," per the hotel's own website. The Latchis complex was designed by architect S. Wesley Haynes as a memorial to Demetrius P. Latchis, a Greek immigrant businessman, and is one of only two extant Art Deco buildings in Vermont, according to Wikipedia's Latchis Memorial Building article.
