Ski area · Manchester, New Hampshire

A community ski hill in Manchester, operating since 1971 and run today as McIntyre Ski Area, LLC.

History

McIntyre Ski Area's own About Us page states skiing and snowboarding have been offered there "since the chairlift began turning in 1971." In 1996, McIntyre Ski School, Inc. opened a retail and rental shop for equipment purchases and winter gear, per the same page. In 2009, McIntyre Ski School, Inc. took over operations of the ski area from the City of Manchester, and the operator's own page credits this transition with new tubing facilities, conveyor lifts, terrain-park improvements, and a 9,000-square-foot lodge. In 2017, McIntyre Ski School, Inc. changed ownership, with longtime President and General Manager Ross Boisvert taking over and reestablishing the business as McIntyre Ski Area, LLC. Per the operator's own account, Ross Boisvert has been affiliated with McIntyre since 1983, moving from ski instructor to Snowsports Director in 1989 and General Manager in 2009, and received the 2021 Einar Aas award for Excellence in Snowsports School Management. The City of Manchester's Parks and Recreation Department lists McIntyre Ski Area among its Recreation Facilities.
