History

The Grade I entry covering the museum is named 'Natural History Museum, Front Lodge and Gates, Gatepiers and Railings', NHLE 1080675, so the listing takes in the front lodge and the railings along with the building. A lodge west of the museum is a separate Grade II entry, NHLE 1190175, under the name 'Lodge west of the Natural History Museum', and is not part of the Grade I entry.
