Palazzetto Zuccari (Bibliotheca Hertziana)
Historic site · Campo Marzio, Italy
The house Federico Zuccari built at the top of via Gregoriana, known in Rome as the casa dei mostri for the door and window surrounds on that front. It houses the Bibliotheca Hertziana, the Max Planck Society's art-history research institute.
History
it.wikipedia records that Zuccari built the palazzetto at the top of the street, that the monstrous surrounds gave it its nickname, and that after a long restoration in the early 2000s it houses the Bibliotheca Hertziana, an institute of the Max Planck Society dedicated to the history of art.
