Palazzo Cesi-Armellini

The Cesi family bought the palace in 1565. Italian Wikipedia dates Longhi's rebuilding to 1570–1575 in the body of its article and to 1570–1588 in its infobox; the two do not agree and this guide states both rather than choosing. The same article records that the Landsknechte of Charles V entered Rome through this building in the Sack of 1527. Cutting via della Conciliazione mutilated it: the façade lost five of its thirteen windows, leaving eight, and the monumental staircase was destroyed. Italian Wikipedia describes what stands as a light brick façade in three bands with paired pilasters, an antique lion protome at one corner, a Doric-pilastered portal and a large rectangular courtyard.
