Park Slope Historic District
Historic site · Park Slope, New York
An almost entirely residential district of nineteenth- and early-twentieth-century townhouses. It is not a single visitable site but the architectural fabric of most of the neighborhood, walkable as public streetscape.
History
Designated by the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission on July 7, 1973 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places on November 21, 1980, covering about 150 acres and roughly 40 city blocks. A 2012 expansion brought the city-designated district to 2,575 buildings and a second northern expansion followed in 2016. Contributing buildings date from 1862 to approximately 1920.
