Peoples State Forest

Roughly 3,000 acres along the West Branch Farmington River with hiking, fishing, canoeing, picnicking, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling. Home to the Lighthouse Archaeological Site and a stone Nature Museum built by the CCC in 1935, open free Memorial Day through mid-October with seasonal hours. Phone (860) 379-2469.
