Petros eni: Saint Peter's Digital Experience

Attraction · Vatican City, Vatican City

An immersive exhibition in the Octagonal Halls, spaces inside one of the pillars that support the dome. The Fabbrica gives winter hours of 07.30 to 17.00 for 26 October 2025 to 28 March, and summer hours of 07.00 to 18.00 for 29 March 2026 to 25 October 2026, and also sells it combined as Petros eni with the basilica and the dome with lift.

History

The Octagonal Halls were restored by the Fabbrica's artisans and opened for the exhibition. It runs on two narrative paths, the origins and construction history of the basilica around the tomb of Peter, and the life of the apostle to his martyrdom, and is built on a 3D digitisation of the basilica made from over 400,000 photographs. The Fabbrica names Microsoft, Iconem, DADADA studio and Processoffice as partners, Orpheo for audiovisual engineering, David Chalmin for the music and Manu Kalve for the scenographic installation, with scientific direction by Pietro Zander, project coordination by Fr Francesco Occhetta and narration by Fr Agnello Stoia.
