Ponte del Risorgimento

It was built between 1909 and 1911 by Giovanni Antonio Porcheddu, then sole Italian licensee of François Hennebique's patent, with the engineers Chiera, Giaj and Parvopassu and with Hennebique himself supervising, and was inaugurated on 11 May 1911 by mayor Ernesto Nathan during the celebrations of the fiftieth anniversary of Rome as capital. The north parapet reads «Ponte in cemento armato ad un'unica arcata di 100 metri di corda con freccia di 10 metri» and «Costruito con sistema Hennebique dalla Società Porcheddu Ing. G.A.»; the south parapet reads «Inaugurato l'11 maggio del 1911 nel cinquantenario della proclamazione di Roma Capitale d'Italia» and «Dall'amministrazione popolare cittadina al Risorgimento Italiano».
