Palazzo Piacentini (Ministero della Giustizia)
Historic site · Regola, Italy
The Ministry of Justice, in a late-fifteenth-century Renaissance classicism with diamond-point rustication. It is not the Palazzo Piacentini on via Veneto, which is a different building.
History
Pio Piacentini designed the building in 1913 for the then Ministero di Giustizia e Culti. Excavation and foundations began in 1914 and were halted by the First World War; the ministry moved in from Palazzo Firenze in 1920, the building was finished in 1924, and the rear wing was raised in 1932.
