Rome War Cemetery

A Commonwealth war cemetery on via Nicola Zabaglia, established in 1947 and built by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, which still manages and maintains it, as one of about fifty comparable sites in Italy, to a design by the architect Louis de Soissons. It is approached through an open circular vestibule sheltering a bronze box with the names of the dead; the headstones are aligned along the walls, the Stone of Remembrance stands at the centre of the rows, and a large stone cross closes the avenue facing the entrance. No wall separates it from the street, only a light railing. No source states its opening hours, so none are given here.
