Via di Monte Testaccio and the grottini

The street that runs round the base of Monte Testaccio. Caves, the grottini, were cut into the foot of the hill and used as cellars and stables; Roma Capitale's tourism service says they have become the restaurants and disco-pubs that make the night life along here. Which businesses hold them changes, and none is listed on this page.
History
it.wikipedia records that the clay of the hill keeps the caves at about 10 degrees Celsius the year round, and that they held taverns from the Middle Ages.
