Chiesa di Santa Maria Immacolata a Villa Borghese
Historic site · Pinciano, Italy
A small church on Piazza di Siena, set within the Casina di Raffaello, with a portico of four Doric columns. It is a subsidiary place of worship of the parish of Santa Teresa d'Avila.
History
It was made at the end of the eighteenth century for Prince Marcantonio Borghese, who had a farmworkers' casale on his land converted into a church, the work entrusted to Mario Asprucci. Felice Giani frescoed it between 1791 and 1793; the infobox of its own article gives 1792 as the start of building. Pietro Carrarini did further work and frescoes in 1829.
