Sovrintendenza Capitolina ai Beni Culturali (piazza Lovatelli)

The seat is two buildings, of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, that replaced and partly absorbed medieval units on the square. The facade was restructured in 1764 on a survey by Luigi Vanvitelli, who gave it the flat rustication; on the via di Sant'Angelo in Pescheria flank the original look survives, with false rustication incised in the plaster. Two rooms retain frescoes and stucco, and the altana and the main portal on the square survive. The buildings were restored in the 1990s to a project by a team led by Paolo Marconi. They were historically tied to the convent of Sant'Ambrogio della Massima, which from the seventeenth century owned both.
