St Anne's Church, Kew Green

The churchyard on three sides of the church holds the tombs of the painters Thomas Gainsborough and Johan Zoffany; neither tomb carries an entry of its own on the National Heritage List for England, and the two Grade II designations here are the churchyard sections themselves. Camille Pissarro, resident at 10 Kew Green, painted the church as "Church at Kew" in 1892. Kew Green is owned by the Crown Estate and leased to the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames; its open grassland extends to about thirty acres and has hosted cricket since the 1730s. Elizabeth Gate, one of the two main entrances to the Royal Botanic Gardens, is at the west end of the green, and the principal entrance gates and railings fronting Kew Green are Grade II listed, NHLE 1250801.
