Tempio di Adriano (Hadrianeum)

Historic site · Colonna, Italy

Eleven columns of a Roman temple, embedded in a later building on Piazza di Pietra, and later in use as the Borsa di Roma, the city's stock exchange. No institutional page for the temple exists on Roma Capitale's site, so what is stated here is the identity of the building and nothing else.

History

One trap to know before you read about it elsewhere. The Italian Wikipedia article describes the temple as «sito nel Campo Marzio», which means the ancient Campus Martius and not the modern rione Campo Marzio. The same epithet sits inside the mapped name of the church of Santa Maria Maddalena, which is also a Colonna building.
