Called the birthplace of New York City, The Battery holds the largest public perennial garden in the country (designed by Piet Oudolf), the SeaGlass Carousel, and the Battery Playscape. Castle Clinton anchors the park but is currently undergoing renovation, so confirm interior access before you visit.
