West Dover Village Historic District

The West Dover Village Historic District, centered where Vermont Route 100 meets Cross Town and Valley View Roads, was added to the National Register of Historic Places on October 24, 1985; it covers about 40 acres of Federal, Greek Revival, Italianate, and Cape-style 19th-century buildings, per Wikipedia's "West Dover Village Historic District" article. The village of West Dover was settled in 1796 and incorporated into the town of Dover in 1810; its early economy centered on a sawmill built in 1796 that later expanded into wool processing, until the mill complex burned down in 1901.
