Brown Gate
Attraction · Golden Gate Park, California
The park entrance at 8th Avenue and Fulton Street, with a bronze Bear on the northeast corner and a bronze Lion on the northwest corner.
History
Bear and Lion are both by M. Earl Cummings, bronze on sandstone, 1908, the gift of Suzanna Brown, at 8th Avenue and Fulton Street. In 1948 the road needed widening, so the gateway was moved several feet apart.
